How can I download Xcode Tools?

Create a free ADC Online membership or log in to your ADC account with your Apple ID and password, and proceed to the “Downloads” area for Xcode Tools and other downloadable files. To purchase ADC products and services, visit the Apple Store online.

Who is eligible to receive pre-release software?

ADC Premier and Select members receive pre-release builds of many Apple technologies. There is no extra charge for this extended seeding program, as it is one of the benefits of ADC Select and Premier Membership. This information, delivered early in the development cycle, is provided to help developers bring new and innovative products with the latest Mac OS X features and compatibility to market sooner. (While Apple provides pre-release software for many projects, there may be some projects that necessarily need to be limited in their early stages.)

To be eligible to receive pre-release software, you must first be a member of the Apple Developer Connection with an active ADC Software Seed Key asset. All ADC members must agree to the online ADC Terms and Conditions (PDF) to become an ADC member

Where am I able to download pre-release software?

Once you have purchased an ADC Premier or Select Membership and the Membership is active, you will have instant access to download pre-release software (located in the “Downloads” area of your ADC account. You will also begin to receive the “ADC Seed Update” email announcements.

I want to give others at my company access to download software provided through ADC. What should I do?

If you are an ADC Select or Premier member, you have five available ADC Software Seed Keys provided with your Membership. You may transfer a key to other ADC members in your company. The transfer of this key allows the recipient to then download software through their ADC account. Please see the ADC Terms and Conditions (PDF) for eligibility requirements on sharing confidential information.

To transfer a key, log in the ADC Member Site with you Apple ID and password and proceed to the “Manage Assets” page to transfer an ADC Software Seed Key to another ADC member at your company. Once you have transferred a key, this recipient will have immediate access to the pre-release software in the “Download Software” area of the ADC Member Site and will receive the next “ADC Seed Update” email..

Are there other Apple programs that offer access to pre-release software?

The Apple Software Customer Seeding program is an Apple program that provides end-users with an opportunity to test pre-release software while providing them with the ability to provide feedback directly to engineering. Please visit Apple Customer Seeding for more information.

What are the ADC Compatibility Labs?

The Apple Developer Connection encourages all developers to thoroughly test for compatibility prior to releasing products to ensure greater satisfaction for customers. The ADC Compatibility Labs maintain more than 300 Macintosh CPU configurations with multiple versions of Mac OS X and are available on a monthly basis to ADC Premier and Select members.

Where are the ADC Compatibility Labs?

We currently have ADC Compatibility Labs in:

  • Cupertino, California
  • Beijing China
  • Tokyo, Japan

Who can use the ADC Compatibility Labs and how often?

ADC Premier and Select membership includes access to the ADC Compatibility Labs. Premier members may use the labs up to three (3) times a month, and Select members may use the labs up to two (2) times a month.

The ADC Labs asset may also be transferred to another ADC member at the Permier or Select member’s company.

What hardware and software resources are available in the labs?

All labs feature the complete line of Apple products including all versions of Mac OS X. Direct Internet access is always available, and analog lines can be made available upon request. Is there a cost involved to access the Compatibility Labs?

Access to the ADC Compatibility Labs is a benefit of ADC Premier and Select membership. There is no additional fee for ADC Compatibility Labs use, nor can it be purchased as a standalone benefit.
